Scaling a SaaS Platform's Data Backbone Through Hypergrowth
Situation
A high-growth SaaS company had customer, revenue, and usage data scattered across Stripe, Google Analytics, and its own application — with no unified way to see how the business was actually performing — while the customer base and revenue were scaling quickly.
Action
Built data pipelines aggregating Stripe, Google Analytics, and application data, then designed dashboards and reporting to support data-driven decisions across the platform. Architected and deployed the underlying AWS SaaS platform itself (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) as a distributed, multi-tenant system using CloudFormation, and built the Lambda/Step Functions/S3 pipelines powering real-time and batch analytics.
Result
Customer base grew to 250+ accounts, and monthly recurring revenue grew from $42K to $280K in 10 months.
Skills demonstrated
End-to-end ownership across infrastructure, application, and analytics layers — building the platform's foundation while it was actively scaling underneath.
