Cloud Migration and Custom Billing for an Enterprise PEO Platform

Situation

An enterprise PEO (professional employer organization) platform needed a secure, scalable cloud foundation and a modern billing system, with the CEO personally sponsoring the roadmap.

Action

Architected a secure, scalable AWS cloud environment spanning on-premises integration and hybrid solutions. Designed and implemented a custom subscription and payment system using Stripe APIs and webhooks. Assisted in standing up an Amazon Redshift data warehouse for multi-tenant analytics, and led the migration of the on-premises SQL Server OLTP database storing receipt data to AWS Aurora.

Result

Reduced operational expenses by $1,400/month through infrastructure optimization, alongside a production payment system and analytics warehouse. Recognized as ERCToday's Employee of the Month, October 2023.
